Pécs lies in the Carpathian Basin, Hungary, southern Transdanubia, on the southern slope of the Mecsek Mountains. The city – which nowadays have a population of around-one-and-a-half-hundred-thousand – has a continous history dating back to the roman times, a diverse, colourful and welcoming culture, with the university found in 1367, being the first to be established in the country.
